Bureau of Insurance--Office of Managed Care Ombudsman in Virginia.  The Office of the Managed Care Ombudsman helps Virginia consumers who have health insurance provided by a Managed Care Health Insurance Plan (MCHIP). The office was created to promote and protect the interests of covered persons under MCHIP plans in the Commonwealth of Virginia. They assist consumers in understanding and exercising their rights of appeal of adverse decisions made by MCHIPs.   If you have an issue with your insurance company, don't hesitate to file an appeal.  The majority of appeals for mental health issues are successful. Govbenefits.gov    This site is a centralized location to determine your eligibility for all kinds of government benefits and how to apply for them.  This includes Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, Head Start, and various health services.

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.  Part of NIH, this group is responsible for studying the effectiveness and potential risks of complementary and alternative medicine approaches. These include vitamin supplements, St. John's Wort and Sam-E for depression, and glucosamine for arthritis.
